The City of Jacmel

Although the city of Jacmel was extremely damaged from the Quake,
Marlaine's orphanage suffered only minor damage.
The children are all doing well and very thankful
for the food and water that arrived last week in the Port of Jacmel.

Jerry and the team made a surprise visit to see the kids in the home
last week and found them all outside singing Praises to the Lord!
They all were so blessed to hear the kids sing and to see everyone in such
good spirits and Praising God.
The older
children have been going into
the streets daily to pray for the injured and to share the
love of Jesus.

We are preparing a 40' and 20' container for Marlaine which will be filled with
humanitarian aid such as food, water, tents, clothes,
bedding, and medical supplies.
Marlaine is sharing her supplies with
the entire city of Jacmel. They have set up their own feeding

After the earthquake on January 12th the children at Marlaine's children's
home have had to stay outside the buildings for fear they will collapse on
them. This is the story we are hearing from all over Haiti.
There are thousands upon thousands of people sleeping anywhere they can
find an open field. As tremors continue, buildings are
collapsing.
In the picture above: These are just a few of the children that live at
Marlaine's orphanage. They are now living in a shipping container
converted to a shelter.
The older children live in temporary tent housing until the buildings
they lived in have been inspected by an engineer and are repaired.
We are preparing another container right now which we hope to send to
Marlaine in a week or two. Their biggest need now is for FOOD and
Medical Supplies. Once we ship this container, we will fill another one
with building supplies for the construction teams that we are planning to
send to help with the repairs. |

Pastor Phil of Christian Retreat in Bradenton Florida and Jerry Schmidt of Schmidt Int'l Ministries are combining
their efforts to evaluate the damages to our Haiti ministries and take in
immediate Disaster Relief for the victims of the earthquake.
Jerry has been in Haiti for the past 10 days and is preparing the pastors
for distribution of food that is being sent in.
The
latest word from the Gov. is that only food and medical can be received at
this time.
We have a contact to purchase pallets of rice and
beans at half the wholesale price. A 50 lb bag of rice will cost
only $15.00. We are looking for donations of any size to help
purchase pallets to ship in our containers.
