Tuesday January 12th, 2010, close to 5 p.m., an earthquake shook Port-au-Prince, Haiti and its surrounding cities causing widespread death and disaster. The epicenter was in the Carrefour area

where our International Victory Bible Institute is located. The telephone and electrical lines are down making it difficult for us to communicate with our school administrators, students, and orphanage.

Latest News Flash!!!  Our friends are alive!  Most of them have buildings that are still standing with much damage.  Our friends will not go into the buildings now for fear they will collapse.  They are all sleeping outside and have had no food or water since the Earthquake.  They desperately need our help now! All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. Please help us to help them!

The needs are critical.  We have sent in money through Western Union to our Director for immediate relief to buy food and water, but it is a small amount compared to the great need.  We need to fill the container and get large amounts of food and water to them as quickly as possible!

Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere with a population of over 8 million people.  In the last two years the island was struck by two deadly hurricanes, and now with this earthquake the hardship of this already struggling nation seems unbearable.
Schmidt International Ministries is collecting Humanitarian Aid to fill a 40 FT container, and will ship it once it is full, and the ports are open to receive it.
